Description

The D-M9N detects the presence of a magnetic field and provides an output signal. It is clamped or mounted to the exterior of an air cylinder and activates as the cylinder’s internal piston passes its location. Reed switch vs. solid state: The D-M9N can be either a traditional magnetic reed switch or a solid-state switch. A reed switch contains two flexible metal contacts that close when a magnetic field is detected, while a solid-state version uses semiconductor technology to provide a similar output signal. Visual indicator: The switch typically has an LED indicator light (often red) that shows when the switch is activated. Durability: Many models carry an IP67 enclosure rating, meaning they are protected from dust and water immersion.
